About the Team
The Driver Relicensing Services team are part of the Driver Safety Standards within the Regulatory Programs and Services (RPS) Division of the Department of Transport. The DRS team are responsible for a number of programs; Alcohol Interlocks, Behaviour Change Programs; Drink & Drug Driving and Safe Driver. Motorcycle and Heavy Vehicle Accredited Provider Scheme as well as the Hazardous Area Authority.
About the Opportunity
The Driver Relicensing Services Officer, reporting to the Driver Relicensing Services Team Leader is primarily responsible for assessing and resolving issues regarding relicensing requirements for customers through interpretation and application of processes in accordance with legislative requirements, established policies and business rules.
About you
The skills and experience required in the position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Resolve driver relicensing problems through interpretation and application of established guidelines, rules and processes in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Provide advice or source appropriate advice on driver relicensing matters in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Exercise judgment to effectively deal with confrontational customers and take appropriate action in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Establish and maintain client relationships to progress work activities
- Make suggestion to improve work methods in line with customer/stakeholder needs
