About the Team

Network Operations is a division of Transport Services and is responsible for enabling DoT to effectively plan, deliver and maintain a safe, resilient and fit-for-purpose Victorian transport system through trusted, systematic and disciplined technical excellence.

About the Opportunity

The Senior Engineer – Structural sits within Operational Access and uses their structural engineering expertise and independent judgement to assess heavy vehicle applications. The position will provide technical expertise and sound advice to support junior members of the team in relation to complex structural assessments.

About You

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering.
  • Technical Knowledge – Determines complex heavy vehicle operational access applications via structural assessment and determines asset performance requirements using multiple methods.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Skills - Resolves issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines. Where guidelines are not available, analyses ideas available and takes action through self, or in consultation with others to resolve problems. If required, determine additional information needed to make informed decisions. Applies critical thinking and problem solving concepts in the right context
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement Skills - Seeks opportunities for continuous improvement and ways to innovate; Offers suggestions and ideas, encourages others to do the same; Leverage on existing continuous improvement systems and procedures to improve outcomes, quality & efficiency of work; Creates space for learning and innovation by seeking for input and feedback from others.
