About the role

This position presents an exciting opportunity to manage the contract to install infrastructure which will contribute to an increase in the uptake of Zero Emission Vehicles in the government fleet to achieve the Government agenda to move towards zero emissions. This position is a fixed term contract that will run till 30/06/2023.

The role will enable the successful applicant to display their broad range of skills in contract management, outcomes delivery, highly developed negotiation skills and interpersonal skills.

The key accountabilities are:

  • Oversee the contract to deliver zero emission vehicle charging infrastructure across a number of Metropolitan and Regional buildings.
  • Work with stakeholders both internal and external to government to ensure program outcomes are delivered.
  • Develop and maintain constructive relationships with external service providers, external contractors, building owners/managers and other key stakeholders to achieve effective program delivery outcomes.
  • Ensure the infrastructure installation is compliant with relevant construction and building codes and standards.
  • Mange the program of works to schedule and budget, utilising relevant tools such as MS Project.

About you

To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience with and knowledge of contract management and procurement policies, standards and guidelines, ideally within the public sector
  • Ability to manage and monitor contractor performance and proactively identify improvement opportunities and/or under-performance
  • Experience managing complex projects, including effective management of external contractors, using strong collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Highly developed communication skills, including an ability to communicate complex issues, options and solutions effectively and appropriate to the audience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and work productively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
