The Strategic Sourcing team members play a key role in servicing internal and external stakeholders. It is a flexible and agile environment and having the ability to work across several areas in the group is critical.
About the role
The Strategic Sourcing team are looking for an experienced Procurement Lead (VPS4) to join their team on an ongoing basis. Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, the Procurement Lead will provide support for end-to-end sourcing activities across a broad range of goods and service categories.
Key accountabilities:
- Provide support for end-to-end sourcing activities across a broad range of goods and services categories with an ability to apply Victorian Government Purchasing Board policies, standards and guidelines in an effective manner
- Facilitate and manage sourcing activities that utilise existing State Purchase Contracts to support larger procurement projects across the team
- Undertake selected category and contract management activities including category and contract analysis, the monitoring of supplier performance, engaging with contract business owners and proactively identifying improvement opportunities
- Proactively contribute to the development and achievement of team deliverables, goals and strategies
- Contribute to the documentation and development of policies, procedures and process improvements to maximise the efficient and effective delivery of the Procurement and Category Management team deliverables
- Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with stakeholders, constructively working to resolve issues or escalate as appropriate
About you
To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with an ability to clearly articulate outcomes, listen to customers / clients / stakeholders and address their requirements within agreed time frames
- Ability to undertake end-to-end sourcing activities including specification and strategy development, tender documentation, evaluation activity, negotiation and contract execution
- Contract and category management experience with an ability to apply procurement policies, standards and guidelines in an effective manner
- Strong stakeholder relationship skills with an ability to develop collaborative and effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and to constructively support the delivery of team and organisation-wide outputs
