Position Details

 

DTF is looking to fill a full time VPS 5 role as a Senior Real Estate Adviser.

The Shared Service Provider (SSP) team delivers facilities, accommodation, car pool and library services to all Victorian Government departments and four agencies (Victoria Police, VicRoads, Environment Protection Authority and State Revenue Office).

 

In this role, you will
• Manage the whole of government property services contract, utilising experience and judgement to assess and influence contractor performance in the delivery of real estate outcomes.
• Provide high level real estate advice with a specific focus on commercial office leasing and expertise across the SSP to inform decision making and accommodation planning and meet ongoing client service requirements.
• Work with the Manager of Accommodation and Facilities Management and the external property services provider to identify and implement real estate service innovations to improve client service levels.
• Liaise with the external property services provider on specific real estate matters as required.
• Work with the external property services provider and the Program Management unit to proactively resolve real estate related complaints and issues that are escalated beyond the external property services provider to the SSP.
• Prepare briefing materials and elicit approvals for leases and real estate documentation as required.
• Maintain an understanding and awareness of the Victorian commercial real estate market and relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
• Interpret and analyse advice, data and reports from the external property services provider to inform advice an reporting outputs.
• Proactively contribute to the development and achievement of team goals and plans, and support other team members to achieve their objectives.
• Exercise judgement in contributing to the identification and implementation of solutions to complex problems or complicated issues.
• Actively promote, model and adhere to DTF's values, behaviours and the VPS Code of Conduct, and deliver outputs in line with probity, legal and other established requirements.
• Build and maintain constructive relationships with external service providers and key stakeholders to achieve effective reporting, advice and service outcomes.

 

This role would suit a candidate who has experience as follows:
• Sound current knowledge of the commercial real estate sector in Victoria and demonstrated experience in providing high level advice on real estate issues.
• Demonstrated capacity to prepare strategic accommodation advice targeted at delivering high level real estate objectives.
• Demonstrated capacity to apply analysis, interpretation and problem solving skills to achieve positive outcomes.
• Demonstrated capacity to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders with competing demands to achieve agreed outcomes.
• Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate, negotiate and present in a professional and positive manner.
• Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement, take responsibility for initiating and delivering outcomes for clients, and proactively identify opportunities for innovation.

 

Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, and/or significant experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.
