Position Details

People and Culture Business Partner

The People and Culture team is responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of human resources services within the Department of Treasury and Finance.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile People and Culture Business Partner to join our team in a VPS4 ongoing full-time role.

To be successful in this role, you will bring agility, resilience and proven generalist capability across the HR spectrum. This is a fast-paced role with quickly changing priorities and plenty of variety. It would suit someone with a willingness to learn, be a great team player and provide excellent customer service. Specialist experience in ER, IR, OD, L&D will be highly regarded, but is not essential.

• Provide, comprehensive advice and support to departmental people managers and staff on employee relations, industrial relations, grievances, change management and other employee relationship matters, which may include advice on relevant policy/practices, legislation and the Victorian Public Service Agreement;
• Deliver advice on, assist with and support a range of other people management functions  which may include performance management, workforce planning, policy development and implementation, capability development and reporting;
• Together with other People and Culture staff, provide guidance, advice and direct services to people managers and staff in a broad range of HR and organisational development areas, including people management, HR processes, culture and behaviour change, capability building and change management;
• Build and maintain sound relationships with key stakeholders to become a trusted advisor on people and culture issues within the department; and
• Support and contribute to the work of the broader People and Culture team  to achieve team and broader divisional goals.
