Position Details

Technical Specialist - Support

DTF is looking to fill a 12 month, VPS4 role as an IT Technical Specialist.

The Information and Technology Services (I&TS) group provides corporate technology, information and records management services to DTF. Technical support is provided in the areas of telephony services, application support, desktop support, vendor and contract management, as well as IT strategy and development advice and general IT support and service. I&TS work with a broad cross-section of stakeholders across the department, as well as fostering positive relationships with our external stakeholders.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • General IT support – Level 2 and 3 as required
  • AWS administration
  • Identity Management support (admin, not operational) in particular with AD and Azure AD
  • Basic DBA support for MS SQL Server
  • Consulting on networking and other IT related topics

To be successful in this role you will have experience in:

  • Working in an IT service/help desk environment which included servicing hardware, software, desktop, server, telephony and peripherals.
  • Networking topologies and technologies (eg routing, IP topology, VPN, VLAN)
  • Cloud services, in particular Azure and AWS
  • Searching for solutions and knowing when to ask for help
  • Explaining technical topics to non-technical audiences.
