Position Details

An exciting opportunity exists for an investment manager on a fixed term basis in Invest Victoria, International Investment Team.

Invest Victoria is the Victorian Government's key economic development agency.  It contributes to the development and implementation of Victoria's Economic Development Strategy as well as being responsible for:

  • attracting and leading Foreign Direct Investment opportunities (excluding in relation to defence, screen, tourism and direct flights);
  • leading investment opportunities of state significance;
  • improving the business investment environment through the development of new investment attraction measures (such as debt and equity), identifying areas for improvement, and leveraging additional economic development benefits from a range of government activities;
  • developing whole-of-government mechanisms (such as facilitation services) and associated frameworks; and
  • managing and co-ordinating the State's investment pipeline.

The position is responsible for facilitating and delivering international investment opportunities for Victoria. This will be done through implementing investment attraction strategies, working with international companies and contributing to the investment pipeline to secure new investments into the State.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Provide efficient and timely support to the Market Manager to attract and facilitate international investments from Japan and Korea into the State.
  • Respond to investment enquiries and engage with international businesses to facilitate appropriate government assistance.
  • Work with international Victorian Government Trade and Investment offices to research and identify international investment targets and assist the implementation of international investment attraction strategies that seek to secure investment and jobs into Victoria.
  • Prepare and deliver inbound visits for potential international investors.
  • Prepare briefings, reports and correspondence for executives and Ministers, related to investment opportunities from international markets.
  • Foster strong working relationships and work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to secure investment opportunities.
