Position Details

An exciting opportunity exists for a Project Support Officer role on a 12-month fixed-term basis in Economic Policy Group.

Economic Policy Group provides advice on macroeconomic conditions and policy, regulation reform and environment, planning and resourcing policy to improve Victoria's prosperity. The Regulator Effectiveness Secretariat provides advice supporting the Inquiry into the Effectiveness of Victorian Regulators, which will report to the Government no later than September 2020.

As the Project Support Officer in the Secretariat, you will
• work under limited supervision to provide high-level confidential administrative and project support to the Regulator Effectiveness Secretariat, including extensive time and diary management for the Eminent Person;
• provide support to the Eminent Person for all meeting papers, preparation of presentations, and facilitating follow-up action;
• assess and prioritise a high volume of incoming papers, emails and telephone enquiries and take appropriate follow up action;
• implement and manage administrative processes across the Secretariat;
• maintain strong relationships with senior management in DTF, the Eminent Person, staff within the Secretariat, as well as other public and private sector agencies; and
• provide administrative and project support to other staff within the Secretariat and complete duties as required within the scope of the role.

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate
• proven experience providing high-level executive and administrative and project support.
• highly-developed computer skills and the ability to learn information management systems;
• proficiency in a range of software programs such as MS Office, Outlook, HPE Content Manager and Ariba (or equivalent);
• proven organisational skills, including distinguishing between more and less critical activities, using systems and procedures to guide work and track progress, and recognising barriers and finding effective ways to overcome them;
• demonstrated experience in client and stakeholder management;
• strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to understand an audience and how written materials may be interpreted; and
• ability to develop and maintain relationships with people at all levels and from different backgrounds and organisations.
