Position Details

About the role:

As a Senior Intelligence Analyst within the Organised Crime Intelligence Unit, you will undertake operational and strategic intelligence projects that contribute directly to investigations, strategy development and decision making around the impact of organised crime and sporting integrity matters in Victoria.

Reporting to an Analyst Manager, you will operate in a small dynamic team and work closely with investigators, other work units within Victoria Police and external stakeholders to collect, analyse and report on emerging issues and trends to inform senior decision makers.

Your duties will include:

  • Planning, researching and developing intelligence assessments
  • Providing high-quality recommendations to decision-makers based on your findings
  • Providing leadership, guidance and assistance to less experienced analysts
  • Liaising and developing good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in the field of intelligence analysis or similar
  • The ability to work in a team but also independently when required
  • An analytical and curious mind with the ability to think critically
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • An ability to think creatively and identify opportunities to approach problems from a different perspective
  • Confidence to engage with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, fixed term position available to 07-Aug-2023.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • This position requires shift work as indicated in the Position Description (as attached to the advertisement).
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with organisational policy, all Victoria Police employees are required to be fully vaccinated (including a booster vaccination) against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exception. As such your employment with Victoria Police is subject to providing evidence of your vaccination status.
