Position Details

About the role:

The Organisational Policy Unit is responsible for developing, drafting and maintaining corporate policy documents such as the Victoria Police Manual, Chief Commissioner's Instructions, delegations and forms.

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting frontline employees to perform their roles efficiently and effectively
  • Working with stakeholders to develop policy solutions on a range of complex operational and administrative issues
  • Drafting policy and procedure documents
  • Providing advice on policy issues to senior management and frontline employees verbally and through written briefings/options papers.
  • Reflecting on and implementing the strategic direction of the organisation 

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly developed stakeholder consultation and management skills
  • Experience developing policy documents on complex issues.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x part-time 0.8 FTE ongoing position available, pro rata salary range VPSG4, $72,053 - $81,753.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated (this includes a booster vaccination) and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
