Victoria Police is the primary law enforcement agency in Victoria employing 22,500 staff including sworn police officers, protective services officers and Victorian public servants. About the role

The Executive Director, Financial Services (CFO) will support Victoria Police in the delivery of their strategic agenda, reporting directly to the Deputy Secretary Corporate & Regulatory Services, and providing strong strategic and operational leadership of the financial services department of 75 staff.     Following a recent restructure, the CFO will continue to build capacity & capability in the financial services team, drive the next iteration of the financial systems development program, continue to provide strong leadership on financial sustainability, delivering cost savings and reform initiatives and building finance maturity across the organisation.  The CFO will provide high level, authoritative advice to the Deputy Secretary and senior management, manages a large and complex budget and intricate relationships with DTF and DJCS as well as ATO and VAGO on financial management, compliance and reporting. The CFO will also actively contribute to a range of whole of government committees and working groups and to building a diverse and inclusive, high-performing culture.

About you

With proven executive level finance leadership experience developed in complex government departments, agencies or authorities and possessing demonstrated knowledge of the Financial Management Act and relevant government regulations, you are a technically skilled CA/CPA with an appetite for change and opportunity.  Influential and strategic, you will enjoy complexity and a high-profile executive role with a pathway to Deputy Secretary level and share a strong connection to the value proposition of Victoria Police, with a desire to make a difference to the safety of Victorians. Your ability to build trust, provide forthright and responsive advice, empower teams, gain credibility with stakeholders and evolve financial maturity will be the ultimate key to your success. It is a requirement that you are an Australian Citizen, fully vaccinated, hold a Victorian Driver License and undergo successfully National Security Vetting Level 2 requirements.
