Position Details

About the role:

As the successful applicant you will be actively involved in providing administrative support to a large team.  As divisional priorities dictate you may be required to perform duties at various work locations within the Southern Metro Region, Division Two.  This area encompasses the Police Service areas of Kingston, Glen Eira, Bayside, and the areas of Investigation and Response, Tasking and Coordination. The unit provides a response to all of Division Two, and works closely with a number of internal and external customers, and external community agencies on a daily basis.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Preparing and managing a wide range of routine correspondence, financial, personnel, statistical and other various types of transactions.
  • Maintaining, reviewing and managing various records and registers (manual and computer based).
  • Responding to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including providing initial information and advice as appropriate.
  • Attending meetings and completing and distributing minutes.
  • Performing administrative and property officer functions.
  • Preparing documents or reports to support the team and the Division.

As the successful applicant, you will:

  • Provide daily administrative support within a dynamic and busy work environment.
  • Have well developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Be able to multi task and prioritise work whilst adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Provide quality customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in your approach to work.
  • Understand the sensitivities and confidentiality around a policing environment and the nature of the work the team perform.
  • Be a valued member of the Southern Metro Region, Division Two administration team.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Initial duties will be at the SD2 Family Violence Investigation Unit situated at the Bayside Police Complex at 25 Abbott St, Sandringham. You may also be required to perform duties at other locations within Southern Metro, Division Two.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
