Position Details

About the role

As an Administrative Officer you will be responsible for the daily functions of managing vacancies and arranging member transfers into Western Region to help us in keeping our local communities safe. You will also have the opportunity to provide administrative support to regional projects, and initiatives including but not limited to road policing and emergency management.

This role sits within the Western Region Business Analyst team and as the successful applicant you will be working alongside the Senior Business Analyst, Senior HR Coordinator and Analyst/ Project Administrator while also engaging with other teams and work units both across Western Victoria and Melbourne daily.

As the successful applicant your duties will include:

  • Responding to general HR and Regional Business enquiries via both telephone and email
  • Facilitate and coordinate the transfer of members into and across Western Region
  • Conduct database, timesheet, and list management audits
  • Assist in the development, collation, and distribution of a range of reports for Senior Management
  • Taking, recording, and compiling meeting minutes and associated documentation
  • Review and update intranet content in line with policy and process changes
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to the Western Region Business Manager and Senior Business Analyst

 

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in Human Resources administration or a related field (desirable)
  • Highly developed administrative skills including strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
  • Customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated experience in contributing to a small team
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience and ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Strong understanding of the importance of confidentiality and Police values

 

Requirements and relevant information

  • One full time, ongoing VPS2 position available
  • VPS2: $55,439 - $71,194 p.a. plus superannuation
  • The usual place of work will be Western Region Business, located at Western Region Headquarters Geelong. However, you may be expected to work out of any location within Western Region Business, as required.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
