Position Details

About the role:

The Investment and Reporting Division (IRD), within the Investment Governance and Assurance Department (IGAD) is responsible for overseeing the investment planning, development of investment proposals and Expenditure Review Committee (ERC) business cases, and the provision of performance and compliance reporting with statutory, corporate and project obligations for Victoria Police.

Within IRD, is the Investment Performance Analysis and Reporting (IPAR) Team which is responsible for collation, analysis and presentation of data, reports and briefings relating to Victoria Police performance and compliance, statutory and project reporting obligations, including but not limited to:

  • Coordination of briefings to support the Minister and Chief Commissioner attendance at the Parliamentary Public Accounts and Estimates Committee (PAEC) Hearings
  • Output performance (BP3) Reporting
  • Responses to the Parliamentary Budget Officer
  • Preparation of Victoria Police's Annual Report
  • Whole of Victorian Government (WOVG) ICT project reporting to Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC)
  • Report on Government Services (RoGS) to the Productivity Commission
  • Statutory reporting and other Victoria Police reporting obligations

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Business Analyst, who will report to the Manager IPAR and be responsible for working with stakeholders to collate information and support the deliverables of the IPAR Team.

This role is expected to obtain knowledge quickly and apply extensive research and analytical skills to inform the collation, analysis and presentation of data, reports and briefings relating to Victoria Police performance and compliance

Your ability to communicative effectively through verbal briefings and written briefings is also essential. The role will frequently seek information from and provide information to executives, subject matter experts and others with a vested interest.

Your duties will include:

  • Lead senior stakeholder engagements to support the collation of information and value add to reports and briefing content
  • Provision of analytical overlays on documents and reporting requirements
  • Supporting IRD with reporting requirements as required
  • Provision of analytical advice on reporting requirements to subject matter experts and senior management, as well as assisting with complex troubleshooting
  • Coordinating and preparing high level written and verbal expert and authoritative advice and reports to internal and external stakeholders including other government departments when required
  • Leading complex reviews on reporting processes to ensure best practice.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive stakeholder experience at various levels, including the ability to be able to gain support for your proposed approach.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, ability to manage priorities and deliver to deadlines. As well as the ability to maintain expert attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong policy and projects expertise

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
