Position Details

About the role

The role requires the successful applicant to work closely in a small team environment under the supervision of a Team Leader and the Station Commander. The role provides administrative support and property management support to operational Police members at Echuca Police station and surrounding Cluster stations.  Support is provided to police members from General Duties, Crime Investigation Unit, Highway patrol and The Inspector.

As the successful applicant your duties will include:

  • Perform a variety of computerised activities including data entry, typing and word processing.
  • Attend enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, provide initial information and advice as required.
  • Receive, record, and distribute mail and correspondence as required.
  • Undertake a range of administrative functions/property support.
  • Provide general office support tasks including the operation and maintenance of office equipment.
  • Undertake the preparation, maintenance and management of various confidential records and registers which can be manual and electronic.
  • Court preparation process
  • Undertake secretariat roles at meetings.
  • Other duties as required.

 As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in working with computers and systems to perform a range of administrative tasks including, records management, data entry and word processing tasks.
  • Must have the ability to accurately maintain systematic and administrative records.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to work successfully within a team environment and ability to work independently.
  • Prioritisation skills and ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Be adaptable to change.
  • Demonstrate integrity particularly in relation to handling confidential material.

 Requirements and relevant information

  • One (1) full-time, ongoing VPS2 position available
  • VPS2: $56,834 - $72,985 p.a. plus superannuation
  • The usual place of work will be Echuca Police Station, 143-145 Anstruther street Echuca. However, you will also be required to work out of any locations within the Campaspe PSA: Kyabram, Rochester, Stanhope, Tongala, Gunbower, and Elmore.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
