About the role

The Administration / Property Officer role provides an essential service supporting the everyday running of the Ballarat Police Complex. The usual place of work will be the Ballarat Police Complex at 20 Dana Street, Ballarat However, you may also be required to work at other locations within the Western Region Division 3.

 As the successful applicant your duties will include:

  • Administer and be accountable for the Station and Command lost and confiscated property office, consistent with service delivery priorities.
  • Undertaking a range of administrative functions including the maintenance and management of various records and registers (manual and computerised) within a Region/Department/Command.
  • Prepare a wide range of routine correspondence, financial, personnel, statistical and other various types of transactions and ensure appropriate follow-up action is taken when required.
  • Attend to telephone and counter enquiries from both internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Undertake courier and other distribution/transportation functions as required.

 As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Proven administrative experience particularly in relation to word processing and data entry. 
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to deal effectively with both internal and external key stakeholders.  
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • An understanding of the customer service requirements of the position and a demonstrated record of strong commitment and achievement in meeting customer needs.
  • History of ethical behaviour with commitment to the Victoria Police Code of Ethics and Conduct, Financial Code of Practice, and the Organisational Values.

 Requirements and relevant information

  • One full time, ongoing VPS2 position available.
  • VPS2: $55,439 - $71,194 p.a. plus superannuation
  • The usual place of work will be Ballarat Police Complex, 20 Dana Street, Ballarat. However, you may be expected to work out of any location within Western Region Division 3, as required.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
