Position Details

About the role:

The Assistant Manager oversees a large team, the Central Data Entry Bureau which is responsible for the data entry of all offender information in the Victoria Police database, triaging of electronic data from Courts Victoria in relation to bail and intervention order data, releasing of criminal histories to interstate and international law enforcement and a central contact point for the National Domestic Violence Order Scheme.

Your duties will include:

  • Leading, managing and developing the team.
  • Identifying and managing high volume workloads, emerging issues and risks.
  • External and internal stakeholder management.
  • Supporting the Department's objectives.

 

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in leading, managing and developing staff in a team environment.
  • The ability to provide quality assurance and risk management across all aspects of the unit.
  • Experience in the development of policies, processes and systems to meet service level requirements.
  • The ability to interpret and apply legislation and policy and provide specialist advice to staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and constructively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes for the stakeholder and the Department.

 

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One full-time, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
