Position Details

About the role:

As an Education Consultant you will utilise your skills as an experienced educator to assist in the development and management of the Policing Diploma. This is an extraordinary opportunity to improve outcomes and ensure service delivery excellence in the training and development of Police Recruits.

Working in a small team of Police Officers and other specialist educators, you will conduct research, design, develop and review training materials in line with competency standards under an RTO framework.

Positioned with the Police Foundation Co-Ordination Unit, you will provide expert advice to other areas of the Foundation Training Division about matters pertaining to the policing diploma. This may also include project work consistent with striving to achieve educational excellence.

Your duties will include:

  • Facilitation of written assessments;
  • Review of academic performance and student development plans;
  • Management of training resources and specialist police equipment;
  • Facilitation of practical training activities including liaising with external stakeholders;
  • Administrative duties consistent with student absenteeism;
  • Support to ongoing project development and delivery;

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience working in Vocational Education and Training sector;
  • Experience in facilitation and/or design of training programs and material;
  • Exceptional communication skills;
  • Ability to build productive relationships and engage key stakeholders;
  • Passion for driving educational excellence;
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and quality assurance;
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher tertiary qualification;

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available;
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Academy,View Mount Road Glen Waverley.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated (this includes a booster vaccination) and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
