Position Details
About the role:
The role provides essential strategic business support services to Operations Support Division (inclusive of Public Order Response Team and State Liquor Unit) and the divisional management team. The major focus is on budget preparation, hazard identification and the mitigation of risks across workplace governance, budgets and health and safety. The division responds across Victoria, providing support to regions and commands, hence a strategic focus to delivering highly visible and responsive policing is a priority. The interoperability of Operations Support Division with regions and commands is imperative. This position will be committed to strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve our focus. Delivery of quality services whilst aligning with our fiscal responsibilities is important. The key reporting line manager is the people safety and culture Inspector.

Your duties will include:
- OH&S reporting and analysis including developing divisional safety strategies positively impacting on member wellbeing.
- Gather, analyse and interpret external and internal data; articulating outcomes in reports where necessary.
- Divisional finance and HR analysis and review as directed by the OSD Superintendent.
- Strategic asset management including supporting facility management.
- Business continuity liaison for the division.
- Oversight of communications portfolio.
- Oversight and reporting of Protective Security (Information Management and Information Security- IM&IS) Provide guidance to members on auditing, access requirements, risk identification and mitigation.
- Assist the divisional management team with the development and goal achievement in divisional and command action plans.
- Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders and maintain these across relevant areas of command and Victoria Police.
- Support command business functions where identified.
- Provide policy advice and assist with compliance where required.
- Project management support.
- Support the divisional risk management process.
About You:
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Provide high level business support to the division through the administration of business planning, financial and reporting processes, and the provision of reliable and comprehensive advice and recommendations on issues including:
- Records & risk management;
- Budget, finance and business reporting;
- Human resource management;
- Facilities & technology management; and
- Procurement and contract management and continuous improvement.
- Assist with and/or undertake the development, implementation and oversight of projects, including the analysis and assessment of issues; provide recommendations and develop relevant policies and procedures.
- Ensure processes and procedures are compliant with relevant legislation, regulations, standards, policies and procedures and provide recommendations for remedial action when required.
- Conduct management reviews as directed; prepare reports, proposals and business case submissions.
- Work effectively within a team environment supervising, training and motivating administrative support staff.
