Position Details

About the role:

The Digital Education Design & Development team is responsible for the creation and delivery of digital learning content for the organisation. Reporting to the Learning Design and Development Manager, the Learning Designer will design and develop digital learning content including eLearning packages, blended learning programs, multimedia learning assets and assessment activities. This is a multi-functional role in a small but busy work unit so the ability to prioritise and work collaboratively with the team is essential.

Your duties will include:

  • Identify industry trends and innovative training methodologies
  • Conduct research and analysis through user and client feedback to enable continuous improvement relating to the functionality of existing delivery platforms and the content
  • Consult with key stakeholders throughout the learning design and development lifecycle
  • Design training and development content for delivery through a range of technologies including digital platforms
  • Effectively support personnel within the team to deliver the units strategic objectives
  • Prepare high quality and comprehensive briefs, written reports and correspondence articulating trends, opportunities and risks associated with a planned course of action
  • Ensure training material complies with relevant quality standards.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated and contemporary experience in a content development environment
  • Experience across all areas of the L&D lifecycle, including instructional design skills (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation) of eLearning programs
  • The ability to translate key learning outcomes into simple and effective online courses
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Strong understanding of technical writing and information mapping
  • A creative approach and an ability to think outside of the box
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Practical knowledge of Articulate Storyline software is desirable
  • Practical knowledge of Learning Management Systems including Totara Learn or Moodle is desirable
  • Professional attitude with well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultation skills with a demonstrated capacity to work effectively autonomously as well as collaboratively and productively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work to project deadlines with competing priorities to ensure on-time delivery of scoped
  • Attention to detail with active participation in quality assurance and contribution to the continuous improvement lifecycle

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) full time, fixed term until 31/12/2022 position available.
  • The position is located at the Victoria Police Academy, 1 View Mount Road, Glen Waverley, 3150.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
