Position Details
About the role:
Service Delivery Transformation Command (SDTC) was established under the Deputy Commissioner Capability in October 2020 to transform the Victoria Police Service Delivery and operating models to better service the community, to better meet future demand police services and complex community need. The transformation of the Victoria Police Service Delivery Model is an organisational priority, as set out in the Victoria Police Strategic Plan Keeping You Safe 2023-2028.
This position sits within the Staff Allocation Model (SAM) team at Service Delivery Transformation Command. The SAM is a data driven tool used to inform the allocation of resources across all employment streams for Victoria Police. Set against a baseline and minimum service level framework, the model uses key demand inputs to allocate resources against deployment priorities.
The VPS6 position will play a key role in the ongoing development of the SAM, including the design of modules that are yet to be fully matured. The position will lead consultation with key stakeholders to support data collection and innovative solutions to improve data capture to assess demand pressures and resourcing needs.
The position is part of a small team of technical specialist and support staff, led by an Inspector. The team forms part of a collective mix of both VPS and sworn personnel responsible for the design and implementation of service delivery transformation at Victoria Police.
Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements.
Your duties will include:
- High level interrogation and analysis of data to support design of data inputs in the SAM.
- Consultation with key stakeholders to discuss and promote capture and collation of data to assess demand for organisational resources.
- Expert advice regarding key outputs relating to demand data.
- Development of innovative solutions to address demand input gaps and design.
- Technical support to the model developer to mature demand outputs in the SAM.
- Lead key projects to develop and design modules yet to be fully matured in the model.
About You:
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience in data management and design.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively build and promote effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
