Position Details

About the role:

As the successful applicant your role will be as an Administrative/Property Officer within the Western Region, Division 5 – Bendigo Police Complex. 

We are offering two (2) full-time, ongoing positions within the Bendigo Police Station. This position will require you to undertake duties associated with the day-to-day service delivery of the Bendigo Police Station, providing administrative and property management support.

Your duties will include:

  • Perform a variety of computerised activities including data entry, typing and word processing.
  • Attend enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, provide initial information and advice as required.
  • Receive, record, and distribute mail and correspondence as required.
  • Be actively involved in providing daily administrative/property support within a busy police complex.
  • Provide general office support tasks including the operation and maintenance of office equipment.
  • Undertake the preparation, maintenance, and management of various confidential records and registers which can be manual and electronic.
  • Undertake a range of functions around the receipt, management and disposal of property items in accordance with police policy and relevant legislation.


As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in working with computers and systems to perform a range of administrative tasks including, records management, data entry and word processing tasks.
  • Must have the ability to accurately maintain systematic and administrative records.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to work successfully within a team environment and ability to work independently.
  • Prioritisation skills and ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Be adaptable to change.
  • Demonstrate integrity, particularly in relation to handling confidential material.


Requirements and relevant information:

  • Two (2) full-time, ongoing VPS2 positions available.
  • VPS2: $56,837 - $72,985 p.a. plus superannuation
  • This position will be located at Bendigo Police Station, 221 High Street, Bendigo, 3550. However, you may be expected to work out of any location within Western Region Division 5, as required.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
