About the role:

The Clinical Governance Lead plays a key role within the Mental Health Centre of Excellence and Innovation, overseeing and supporting the implementation of clinical governance across Victoria Police. Reporting to the Manager of the unit, this role drives continuous improvement in clinical services by embedding robust governance frameworks, managing clinical risks, and leading quality improvement initiatives. This role champions innovation and maintains strong stakeholder relationships to enhance service delivery.

Your duties will include:

  • Oversee clinical governance implementation and provide expert advice on clinical risk management
  • Lead clinical quality improvement initiatives, including audits and performance monitoring
  • Develop and review policies to ensure clinical safety and effectiveness of services
  • Manage projects related to service innovation, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and schedule
  • Prepare high-quality reports and briefings on clinical governance and related matters
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to support team development and performance

About you:

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: 

  • Proven experience in implementing clinical governance frameworks and managing clinical services
  • Robust project management skills with a record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage and negotiate with diverse stakeholders
  • Analytical skills to assess and manage risks related to legislation, industrial relations, and policy
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in clinical fields such as Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, or Social Work
  • Experience and qualifications in Clinical Governance

Further information:

  • One (1) x full-time, fixed-term position available (23 months).
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
