Position Details

About the role:

As the successful applicant, you will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative support services to members at the Heidelberg Police Station, Division 5, North West Metro Region.

Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and support flexible working arrangements.

Your duties will include:

  • Provide general office support duties including the operation and maintenance of office equipment.
  • Prepare routine correspondence on a range of administrative matters and attend to follow-up procedures as required with a high attention to detail.
  • Assist with the processing of lost and confiscated property.
  • Attend to telephone and counter enquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working in a close team environment inclusive of the Office in charge of the Heidelberg Police station.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in working with computers and various programs to perform a arrange of administrative tasks including records management, data entry and word processing tasks.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise work with minimal supervision.
  • A strong commitment and a demonstrated record in meeting customer needs.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of clients both orally and in writing.

Requirements and relevant information: 

  • One (1) ongoing part-time position available (0.5 FTE).
  • Position is located at the Heidelberg Police Station, 9-11 Jika Street, Heidelberg. While this position will have a nominated usual place of work, the position may be required to work at other locations, in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Victorian Public Service Agreement.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or Visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction - COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated (this includes the booster dose) and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
