About the role:

Service Delivery Transformation Command (SDTC) is a specialist area within Victoria Police that works across the organisation to design, develop and implement a service delivery model that will better enable Victoria Police to serve the community by:

  • predicting emerging and future demands.
  • creating more flexible and evidence-based responses to demand;
  • making best use of information, diverse expertise and technology;
  • partnering with the appropriate range of key stakeholders;
  • integrating more effectively with the wider service sector; and
  • utilising our resources efficiently, effectively and safely.
SDTC is seeking a collaborative and proactive self-starter for the role of Organisational Change Manager (OCM) to manage the organisational change across Victoria Police. Reporting directly to the Program Manager, this role will develop and implement change management strategy and engagement activities, including change impact assessments and organisational change consultancy services, to improve organisational effectiveness.
Part of a team responsible for implementing strategic transformational program of works for Victoria Police, the Organisational Change Manager will significantly contribute to the organisational effectiveness and success of service delivery program of works through continuous improvement, change and engagement strategies and approaches. The OCM will be responsible for developing the organisational change strategy, as well as ensuring projects embed effective change and engagement activities.
They will advise, support and collaborate with senior managers to implement change and proactively implement their own work and resolve issues if and as they arise.
The OCM will manage the establishment and ongoing support of a new change, engagement and communication advisory group of senior key stakeholders who will support SDTC lead the transformational change across Victoria Police.

This position will require highly developed experience, knowledge and skills in organisational change and engagement methods, including in the controlled implementation of new service delivery approaches, as well as the ability to anticipate and effectively respond to emerging organisational issues (including by developing innovative solutions).

Your duties will include:

  • Assisting the Program Manager with strategic change management and engagement associated deliverables.
  • Build capability across the SDTC on change and engagement best practice processes and activities to support the transformation program of works.
  • Implementing a range of change management and engagement activities.
  • Improving the organisational effectiveness of the Service Delivery Transformation Command.
  • Identifying and actively managing emerging opportunities, issues and risks.
  • Working collaboratively with and providing advice to stakeholders within the Region/Department/Command to facilitate controlled implementation of activities, including continuous improvement and training and transition solutions.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Extensive experience, knowledge and highly developed skills in organisational change and engagement methods and initiatives.
  • Experience developing and coordinating strategic change management projects in complex environments.
  • Superior communication skills (strong written and oral communication skills tailored to a variety of audiences, including visual, graphical and written reports).
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to self-motivate.
  • Strong integrity and discretion.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
