Position Details

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Specialist Senior Educator to lead a small team in the design, development and delivery of an organisational priority project relating to Decriminalisation of Sex Work in Victoria. This project focuses on the development of an e-Learning package relating to the Tranche 2 reforms.

This is a high profile and complex project that requires the ability to manage and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. The training purpose is to uplift member knowledge in changes to powers, policies, and processes as a result of the Sex Work Act 1994 and the enactment of the Sex Work Decriminalisation Act 2020.

The role will suit someone with a background in teaching and learning, an experienced people manager and the ability to meet deadlines in accordance with the project schedule.

The position is located at the Victoria Police Academy however there will be an expectation that you will attend Victoria Police sites across the state as required.

Your duties will include

  • Conduct and complete a Training Needs Analysis.
  • Conduct a Training Gap analysis.
  • Develop content for training strategy.
  • Design and develop the evaluation strategy.
  • Implement the training strategy and evaluation strategy (and assist in delivery).
  • Manage deliverables as per the project milestones.
  • Submit project reporting and provide educational advice.
  • Submit final report.


As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Proven experience in design and development of learning programs.
  • The ability to consider innovative and flexible approaches to learning.
  • Excellent people and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Experience with performing in an environment with a high level of uncertainty.
  • Qualifications in a relevant field would be highly regarded.


Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, fixed term (until 30/12/2023) position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Academy, View Mount Road, Glen Waverley.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with organisational policy, all Victoria Police employees are required to be fully vaccinated (including a booster vaccination) against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exception.
