  • Working within the Security Information and Privacy Division and the Project Delivery Division, Digital Services and Security Department located at the Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.

Digital Services and Security Department (DSSD) helps to keep Victoria safe by providing reliable, secure, and easy to use technology that enables our people to do their job and our community to access our services. DSSD are a professional team that partners with our business to transform Victoria Police and lead the digital modernisation of the organisation. 

Within DSSD, Project Delivery Division (PDD) provide a dedicated project management capability to manage and deliver priority initiatives for Victoria Police ensuring that high priority projects are initiated, planned, delivered and transitioned in a timely manner to ultimately deliver operational efficiencies for Victoria Police, improved safety for police members, and increase community safety. A high priority initiative for Victoria Police is the enterprise Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS). 

Also within DSSD, Security, Information and Privacy Division (SIPD) are responsible for the strategic direction, governance of processes, provision of advice, stewardship and promotion of protective and cyber security, privacy, information management and records management. 

SIPD are seeking a VPS6 ICT Product Manager that will report to the Enterprise Information Manager (within SIPD) and work with the EDRMS Project Manager and other senior stakeholders to successfully deliver the enterprise EDRMS project and provide governance between the new EDRMS and M365.

Your duties will include:

  • Provide specialist product advice on the new enterprise EDRMS to ensure governance across M365.
  • Provide ongoing product advice on the design, development and implementation of the EDRMS Project in accordance with relevant information management and information security standards.
  • Achieve project outcomes in the approved programme/project management plan.
  • Provide leadership and direction to a multi-disciplinary team of professional technical and administrative staff to ensure high quality service delivery.
  • Provide high level written and verbal expert and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders including other government departments (as required) and their associated agencies on technical, commercial, policy and legislative matters relevant to the EDRMS project.
  • Prepare documentation, including but not limited to high level and detailed project management plans, schedules, status reports and implementation plans aimed at ensuring successful delivery outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external) to create mutually beneficial partnerships essential to the success of the EDRMS project.
  • Manage effective working relationships with relevant service providers and lead and manage service delivery improvements post EDRMS implementation to increase uptake.
  • Provide specialist product advice associated with project transformation/organisational change management activities in support of the successful implementation of the EDRMS project outcomes.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience with Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS).
  • Demonstrated experience with M365 in the context of governance to manage records and documents.
  • Demonstrated experience with process mapping, workflow and coding desirable.
  • Significant people leadership and management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing large Information, Communication or Technology projects to a high quality and within a specified timeframe.  
  • A proven track record in engaging with a wide array of diverse stakeholders (internal and external vendors), providing specialist advice, and applying influence and negotiation skills to drive the development and execution of projects to an exceptional standard.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, fixed term until 1/4/2026 position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
