About the role

An exciting opportunity is now available for an energetic, self-motivated, and proficient team player to provide high quality support as an Administrative/Property Officer based at the Warrnambool Police Station.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the accurate record management of station documentation as well as assist in the administration of lost, found and seized property.  The role reports directly to the Administration Team Leader and will have some interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

As the successful applicant your duties will include:

  • Data entry processing on various databases in accordance with station operating procedures for briefs, correspondence, accountable documents, and registers.
  • Assist in the daily processing and handling of lost, found and seized property in compliance with Victoria Police and OHS policy guidelines.
  • Answering telephone calls and email enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Record Management; categorisation, retention and archiving of station records and documentation.
  • Preparation and distribution of internal and external mail.
  • Stock Control of workplace stationary, consumables, and equipment.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in working with computers and the ability to accurately maintain systematic administrative records with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and achieve results within strict deadlines whilst working autonomously.
  • Display personal drive, integrity, and strong interpersonal skills to build productive working relationships within a small team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to support professional working relationships with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Proven ethical behaviour as well as recognising the importance of confidentiality and privacy. 

Requirements and relevant information

  • One full time, ongoing VPS2 position available
  • VPSX: $56,834 - $72,985 p.a. plus superannuation
  • The usual place of work will be Warrnambool Police Station, 214 Koroit Street, Warrnambool. However, you will be expected to work out of any location within Western Region Division 2 as required.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
