Position Details

About the role

This position is responsible for performing a range of administrative and property officer duties at the St Arnaud Police Station.  The role will require the successful applicant to perform a wide range of administrative duties and data entry including the management of property.   This position reports directly to the St Arnaud Officer in Charge.   The role will require the successful applicant to work in a team environment and provide administrative support to the St Arnaud and surrounding Police Stations and may require travel from time to time.  The role will require the applicant to liaise with internal and external customers.

As the successful applicant your duties will include:

  • Perform a wide range of administrative duties including but not limited to data entry, filing, document destruction and archiving.   You will be required to answer phone and email enquiries including the scanning of documents and maintaining accountable document registers and undertake counter enquiries.
  • Contribute to the monthly station inspection including maintaining and ensuring compliance, governance and adherence to legislative requirements and procedures.  
  • Assist in the management of lost, confiscated and seized property including undertaking rigorous property audits and inspections.   Undertake courier and transportation duties as required including the destruction of property.
  • Attend meetings, take notes, and prepare agendas and minutes as required.  Ordering of equipment and office supplies and arranging repair or replacement of damaged equipment.
  • Accurately compile statistical returns including sourcing the data to complete the returns.   Requirement to deal with a range of documents and information of a sensitive and personal nature and ensure information security.

Requirements and relevant information

  • One full time, ongoing VPS2 position available
  • VPS2: $56,834 - $72,985 p.a. plus superannuation
  • The usual place of work will be St Arnaud Police Station, Jennings Street, St Arnaud. However, you may be expected to work out of any location within Western Region Division 4, as required.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
