Position Details
About the role:
Reporting to the Superintendent within Recruitment and Deployment Division, Victoria Police has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Projects Officer to lead HR Projects – Delivery function.
Located in the Human Resources Command (HRC), the Recruitment and Deployment Division is responsible for attracting and managing the end-to-end recruitment process for police, Protective Services Officers (PSOs), Police Custody Officers (PCOs), and Victoria Public Servant (VPS) applicants within Victoria Police. The division also oversees the ongoing deployment and movement of police officers and PSOs throughout the organisation. Additionally, it manages and supervises projects and HR policies, serving as the central point of contact for all recruitment and deployment-related matters across the organisation.
In this role you will be responsible for project delivery in a wide range of divisional transformational HR projects, policy writing, and engagement surveys to expand recruitment capacity, modernise processes and align deployment with operational needs. You will work closely with a range of stakeholders in your role working closely with other members of the division, the Human Resources Command and key external stakeholders including union representatives.
Your work will be based out of the Victoria Police Centre at Docklands.

Your duties will include:
- Leading the planning, execution and delivery of key projects in line with divisional and organisational priorities
- Leading provision of expert project management and transformation outputs (such as reports, briefing papers, business cases, options papers, policies) to inform and support decision making.
- Identifying and actively managing emerging opportunities, issues and risks
- Working collaboratively with and providing advice to stakeholders within the division and the Human Resources Command.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
- Experience in all aspects of project and change management.
- Experience deploying people centric projects, with a focus on delivering organisational wide outcomes that enable our people whilst providing capability and/or capacity uplift.
- Experience developing and coordinating strategic project outputs, including business cases, reports, options papers.
- Understanding of legislation, policies, public sector issues and procedures relevant to Victoria Police.
- Superior communication skills (strong writing skills and highly developed interpersonal skills).
- Excellent time management skills and ability to self-motivate.
- Strong integrity and discretion.
Requirements and relevant information:

- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
