PTV helps hundreds of thousands of Victorian's make their way to and from life's events. That may be arriving to work or school, visiting family or friends, attending sporting or entertainment events, whatever it is, WE PLAY A ROLE.

The key purposes of this position

  • Support assurance activities or other adhoc requests as required by the Manager, Network Safety (including SME advice on audits) both internally and externally (e.g. Operator audits)
  • Support the development of PTV's Integrated Safety and Environment Management System to ensure it provides assurance of PTV's safety decision making, in relation to human factors, including supporting the development of Network Integrity Assurance Plans to monitor and report on safety and human factors assurance
  • Review industry data and best practice methodologies to identify opportunities for improvement to PTV's management of human factors issues
  • Actively contribute and support the working groups, in relation to human factors within the transport portfolio and industry

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely provide authoritative expert advice and present information, ideas and /or concepts through comprehensive report and documents
  • High level of knowledge of business/performance management systems and processes including advanced Microsoft Office (or equivalent) suite skills
  • Extensive experience providing human factors assurance on critical programs and projects including analysis of complex situations and issues to ensure strategies and plans are in place to achieve desired outcomes
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of human factors processes and their application in the public transport sector. It also includes international standards and their application within the Victorian public transport environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision as an authoritative specialist, using initiative to manage own schedule of work and prioritise work to meet tight deadlines, including short notice requests and tasks
