About the role:

  • VPSG4 range $90,067 - $102,192 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • One (1) fulltime, fixed term until 30 June 2025
  • Working within the Conducted Energy Device Project, Property Division located at the Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.

The Conducted Energy Device (CED) Project, within the Transit & Public Safety Command is responsible for equipping frontline police and Protective Service Officers (PSOs) with CEDs through a state-wide deployment over a five-year period.

Within the CED Project, is the Infrastructure Project Team. This team works within the Property Division of Victoria Police and plans, builds and maintains police stations, buildings and facilities throughout Victoria. The Property Division is part of the Operational Infrastructure Department which also provides fleet management and warehousing functions for uniform and equipment.

The Infrastructure Project Team is seeking one experienced Project Officer to support a program of infrastructure works to facilitate the rollout of CEDs in police stations and facilities across Victoria.

The role reports directly to the CED Infrastructure Program Manager, in the Property Division, working with executive and operational level stakeholders within police, across local, state and commonwealth government and with key delivery partners.

Your duties will include:

  • Support the development of a project plan to ensure infrastructure works are completed to the required quality and on time to enable the broader CED program rollout schedule
  • Procurement and contract management of consultants and contractors required to deliver the infrastructure works
  • Engagement with key internal and external stakeholders including clients, colleagues and peers, project managers and other State government agencies
  • Assessment of the current state of facilities to determine the scope of works required to safely, effectively and efficiently accommodate the new CED's
  • Collaboration within the infrastructure program and across the broader CED program including other work streams
  • Supporting the design of an infrastructure solution that meets the broader program objectives, and ensures an efficient, effective, safe and secure integrated solution
  • Scheduling infrastructure works to meet the schedule for the broader CED program, highest safety standards and ensure minimal disruption for site occupants

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Relevant experience delivering projects/programs of work on time, on budget and to the required quality
  • Experience in effectively engaging key stakeholders and collaborating with leaders of the programs' other streams of work
  • Ability to identify project related risks and provide advice to effectively mitigate them
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including negotiation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting 24x7 operations

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, fixed term until 30 June 2025 position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands, with occasional work required on other police facilities.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
