Position Details

Project Support Officer, Emergency Management

  • Challenging and engaging role
  • Play a key role in supporting the State Control Centre (SCC) operations
  • Full time fixed term VPS position until 9 October 2018

EMV has an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate project support officer to join our Capability and Response directorate in a project support focused role.

The key responsibilities for this role will include:


  • Provide SCC administrative support to ensure the operational functions of the SCC are in accordance with requirements and are delivered in an efficient and effective manner
  • Provide day-to-day support to functional area(s) of EMV which will change from time to time based on business needs and priorities
  • Support the EMV Directorates undertaking emergency management capability development projects
  • Undertake emergency management functional roles in the SCC and Regional Control Centres (RCCs) as required

As the role works on a rostered basis, the incumbent will be required to work outside normal business hours and on weekends.  Travel to regional locations may be required.

To succeed in this role we are looking for:


  • Experience in and understanding of the underlying needs and issues of stakeholders, with the ability to negotiate effectively to develop and implement solutions;
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written; 
  • Proven record of initiative, flexibility and self-management;
  • Demonstrated understanding of Victoria's emergency management arrangements.
