Policy Officer

EMV has an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate Policy Officer to join our Legal Policy and Executive Services directorate.

The key responsibilities for this role will include:

 

  • Prepare and contribute to business unit and Ministerial correspondence including undertaking investigatory and analytical work and preparing correspondence on sensitive issues.
  • Provide and coordinate the delivery of high quality ministerial support services to the Minister for Emergency Services ensuring that PPQs, Ministerial correspondence, Questions on Notice, Adjournment Debates and other Parliamentary business responses are provided to a high standard and meet required timelines.
  • Assist in preparing briefs, discussion papers, and reports as required for the Director, Minister, Secretary and other senior EMV and departmental officers on complex and sensitive issues.
  • Assist in the provision of strategic policy advice to the Director, and other senior EMV and Departmental officers and the Minister for Emergency Services on a wide variety of issues related to emergency management in Victoria.
