  • An exciting opportunity to work within Emergency Management Technology & Data as an ICN Senior Technical Advisor - Emergency Alert.
  • Full time, Ongoing role
  • Attractive VPS 6 salary between $138,631 - $185,518 + superannuation

What does the business unit do?

Emergency Management is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety. The work of the group supports the emergency management sector to work together and to strengthen the capacity of individuals, communities, government, agencies and business to achieve our shared vision of safer and more resilient communities and to rebuild and recover after an emergency.

EM Tech & Data

EM Technology and Data is responsible for both national and state telecommunication and technology platforms that enable communications to and from the community, sector operational communications and sector information systems. The EM Technology and Data business unit is responsible for delivering the following the key functions of: Strategy & Enterprise Architecture; Investment Planning; Support & Development; Trust Management and Procurement and Contract Management.

What will the role do?

  • Provide a service management / assurance capability on 24/7 coverage.
  • Lead technical review of software changes to existing ICN platforms and products.
  • Manage software outcomes in accordance with standard frameworks such as ITIL.
  • Work closely with the technical teams providing advice on configuration, testing, and changes to ICN platforms and products.

What skills and knowledge should the ICN Senior Technical Advisor Emergency Alert have?

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Demonstrated technical experience in supporting services and applications in a Cloud native infrastructure, using defined procedures and processes
  • Experience in reviewing technological system changes, evaluating impact, coordinating testing of modifications and ensuring documentation is updated
  • Demonstrated experience in Service Now and Jira systems for the delivery of service management and critical programs and projects
  • Demonstrated understanding of geospatial data and systems with experience in tailoring and displaying static and dynamic data to users in high load environments
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting the successful delivery of critical programs and projects
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering Service Management operational services, focusing on Incident & Change Management
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining systems while adhering to sound knowledge management principles
  • Service Management or Information Technology qualifications, or demonstrated relevant experience.
