Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice & Community Safety (the Department). The Department, through the Secretary, employs EMV staff and provides corporate functions to EMV. EMV is led jointly by the Chief Executive (CE) and the Emergency Management Commissioner (EMC).

Position Details

Project Lead, Emergency Responders Health Program

Reporting to the Strategic Adviser to the EMC, the Project Lead will be responsible for the development and implementation of an Emergency Responder mental health and wellbeing project.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Lead stakeholder engagement and consultation to collaboratively design and deliver an Emergency Responders health program
  • Generate and advocate for innovative solutions to strengthen the coordination and collaboration between agencies and sectors to share expertise, best practice and access to services
  • Provide authoritative input to interdepartmental and interjurisdictional forums relating to Emergency Responder health and wellbeing, including input into governance and communications materials.

To be successful you will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare high quality strategic advice and briefing on complex issues.
  • Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • A strong understanding of Victoria's emergency management arrangements is desirable.

Therefore, there is a requirement that all DJCS employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to undertake duties outside of their homes.

Early Retirement Scheme:
A re-employment restriction of one year applies to all recipients of an Early Retirement Scheme package from the VPS.
