About Public Transport Victoria (PTV)

Public Transport Victoria (PTV) is a statutory authority that acts as a system authority for all public transport and an advocate for public transport users. We are a single contact point for customers wanting information on public transport services, fares, tickets and initiatives. PTV aims to improve public transport in Victoria by ensuring better coordination between modes, facilitating expansions to the network, auditing public transport assets, promoting public transport as an alternative to the car.

About the role

PTV's Customer Service Delivery branch is seeking experienced, passionate and enthusiastic customer service officers to join their team on a casual basis.  Based at our pop-up PTV Hub at Station Pier Port Melbourne, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional face-to-face customer service to newly arrived cruise ship passengers.

You'll successfully achieve this through the provision of accurate Public Transport and ticketing information whilst ensuring a positive experience for cruise ship passengers.  You will be required to respond to general customer enquiries, as well as process myki ticket sales for passengers in a friendly, professional manner


About you

  • Experience providing excellent face-to-face customer service
  • Cash handling experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn new information quickly
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with both customers and colleagues from diverse backgrounds
  • Sound attention to detail and the ability to accurately capture statistics and data for reporting purposes
  • An understanding of the importance of adhering to OHS processes and policies
  • Basic knowledge of the Victorian public transport system (desirable)
