An opportunity has arisen for Endorsed Enrolled Nurses who have excellent clinical assessment and care planning skills and are keen to further develop their knowledge in med/surg nursing. The Contracts: Ongoing, Part Time or Full Time, total of 1.0 EFT available – please specify your desired EFT in your application.

The Position:

In this role you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide patient centred, compassionate nursing care using the principals of evidence based practice to improve care delivery. As part of a multifaceted clinical environment, you will be exposed to a broad range of patient presentations and clinical situations providing great opportunities to grow your skills.

Key criteria you need:

• Current AHPRA registration with a qualification in Intravenous medication administration.
• Recent acute medical or surgical nursing experience is preferred
• Well-developed clinical assessment skills with the ability to apply the escalation of care principles.
• A good understanding of discharge planning and transition of care issues so as to achieve safe and timely discharge.

The unit provides care for a large spectrum of medical conditions and post-operative care for gynaecology, urology, gastroenterology and general surgery patients. The ward has facilities for cardiac monitoring via both mobile telemetry units and fixed monitors.
