As a senior consultant, you will administer the legal and financial affairs to a portfolio of represented persons, as appointed by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), who no longer have the capacity to manage their own affairs. This portfolio will include legal, complex or highly sensitive matters that require resolution.

Your daily tasks will include;

  • Manage legal and complex client circumstances and/or requirements, including extensive shareholdings, business, or family conflicts
  • Identify the legal rights of clients and initiate legal proceedings where necessary ensuring the clients best interests are upheld
  • Complete complex and extensive reconciliations of bank accounts/other financial assets
  • Management of farms and complex financial/business affairs
  • Make applications to VCAT pursuant to EPOA Act and Guardianship and Administration Act 2019 for compensation independent of legal assistance

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience in personal financial administration
  • Ability to prepare commercial standard correspondence, reports and recommendations
  • Understanding and experience dealing with clients with a disability
  • Passionate about making a difference to the lives of Victoria's most vulnerable people
  • Sound financial analytic skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and professional communication skills
  • Experience in mentoring others
  • Basic computer literacy and competent use of Microsoft Office
  • Intermediate financial analysis skills
