The Project Officer - Community Based Bushfire Management plays a pivotal role in the planning and implementation of the Safer Together policy, increasing community engagement and inter-agency collaboration in bushfire management. The Safer Together initiative aims to transform the fire management sector and incorporates a strong ‘community first' agenda that builds community capacity in managing their bushfire risks. The position will support the delivery of the Community Based Bushfire Management program working closely with partners such as Country Fire Authority (CFA), Local Government and community organisations.

If you have demonstrable knowledge and experience in the application of community engagement principles and practices and/or group facilitation within a community and stakeholder setting, you are strongly encouraged to apply.

There are three fixed term positions available until 30 June 2019 in Barwon South West (1), Gippsland (1), and Port Phillip (1) Regions. The location within the region is negotiable.
