- An exciting opportunity within the Consumer Affairs, Liquor, Gaming and Dispute Services group, Department of Justice and Community Safety
- VPSG 2 Classification (Salary Range $55,439 - $71,194)
- The following FIVE (5) opportunities are available:
- 3x ongoing, full-time opportunities
- 1x fixed-term, full-time opportunity until 11/02/2024
- 1x fixed-term, full-time opportunity until 21/02/2024
About Us
Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) is Victoria's consumer regulator. Our vision is a fair and competitive marketplace in Victoria.
We:
- provide information to business, consumers, landlords and tenants about their rights and responsibilities
- register and license organisations and occupations
- ensure compliance with consumer laws, and
- review and advise government about Victoria's consumer protection framework.
This position is within the Regulatory Services branch of CAV.
About the Role
As a Regulatory Officer, you will:
- Carry out tasks associated with the RTS' regulatory activities ensuring accurate, timely and professional services are provided to regulatory clients, so as to meet or exceed RTS goals and targets
- Apply legislative requirements and operational policies to processing and decision-making responsibilities ensuring procedures, policies and performance standards are adhered to
- Update, maintain and utilise electronic records and databases in accordance with RTS operational policy and departmental records management policies, procedures and business rules.
About You
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- The ability to understand customer requirements and how work addresses customer needs. Also able to identify opportunities to improve services, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for clients
- The ability to consider the merits of new ideas and approaches, and be willing to develop and apply new skills
- The ability to seek the resolution of problems through policy or process guidelines. Where guidelines are unavailable, the ability to seeks guidance by providing information and ideas relevant towards the resolution of a problem. Also able to understand concepts enabling improvements in critical thinking and problem solving.
