About the role

The Manager, Commercial with the support of the Contract Commercial Analyst ensures effective and robust management of the State's contracts with V/Line, the Southern Cross Station operator and ARTC to produce excellent performance and contract compliance outcomes. 

What we're looking for

Essential (must have to be considered for the position)

  • Extensive experience in, and demonstrated exceptional commercial and contract management skills, including proven ability to navigate through complex and voluminous contract documents and interpret complex contractual and legislative requirements, and understand the commercial drivers in an outsourced delivery model.
  • Demonstrated robust line management experience, and ability to deliver team and organisational objectives by providing the necessary direction and support.
  • Demonstrated high level of commercial acumen and deep understanding of the service provider's commercial and financial drivers. Proven ability to influence outcomes and resolve complex commercial issues through negotiations and development of strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Highly developed strategic planning skills with the ability to deliver outcomes in a complex and politically sensitive environment, within agreed quality, cost and timeframe parameters.
  • Highly developed writing and presentation skills and ability to present complex problems in a clear, succinct way. 

Qualifications (Mandatory)

A tertiary qualification in Commerce,  Economics, Business Administration or Law.
