Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) is a significant project involving a new rail network connecting Melbourne’s middle suburbs as well as associated precinct development activities. The loop will circle Melbourne, connecting major railway lines from the Frankston line to the Werribee line via Melbourne Airport. With several new underground stations and integrated precinct development, this bold long-term project will transform Victoria’s public transport network and connect Melbourne’s middle suburbs to priority growth precincts, improving access to health, education, employment and activity centres, and making thousands of journeys each day easier and more direct. It will also contribute to achieving Plan Melbourne’s vision of a well-connected and polycentric city, aligning transport investments with precinct plans and potential precinct development projects.

About the opportunity

The Senior Manager, Planning and Environment, will lead the planning and environment activities for Suburban Rail Loop. Working in the Land Planning and Environment team, the role will be responsible for providing sound environmental advice on complex issues in relation to environmental monitoring and compliance, in line with established internal policies, procedures and external regulatory frameworks, to enable SRLA to meet its environmental, business and statutory objectives. Reporting to the Director, Land, Planning and Environment, this role requires someone to take a proactive approach and demonstrate a high level of analytical and problem-solving ability.
