Position Details

Following the Royal Commission into Family Violence, the Victorian Budget 2017-18 made an unprecedented investment to respond to its 227 recommendations, including a significant investment to improve the court system. This reform agenda is reflective of the joint commitment by the Victorian Government through the 10 Year Plan to end family violence and Court Services Victoria (CSV) to improve the experience for victim survivors and perpetrators of family violence and court users more broadly.

There are 130 recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence that directly affect the courts, and courts are leading implementation of 25 of these recommendations. The delivery of these changes stretches across all Victorian courts and tribunals, including the Children's Court, Country Court, Coroner's Court and Judicial College of Victoria. However, these changes predominantly impact the Magistrates' Court.
This newly established role will operate within a multi-disciplinary project team that has been established to drive implementation of these reforms which include:

  • Expansion of specialist courts and programs
  • Infrastructure enhancement and development
  • Service delivery improvements and management
  • Digital transformation
  • Increase workforce capability and training
  • Establishment of Family Violence Contact Centre
  • Access to improve family violence response in the court system
  • Culturally appropriate Koori Court services

The Administrative Officer is responsible for a range of administrative functions that support the day to day operations of the Courts Family Violence Reform Program including secretariat support, coordination and planning of meetings, preparing correspondence and record keeping.
