Position Details

The opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Regulatory Strategy and Research, the role of Senior Regulatory Strategy Officer is a leading position within the Regulatory Strategy and Research team. The position will contribute to evolving the organisation's regulatory practice by engaging with stakeholders, including co-regulators, government and the community, maintaining effective environmental scanning of research and other relevant sources, providing robust analysis of external drivers and emerging issues, and providing advice on options to enhance the way we regulate the gambling and liquor industries.

The vacancy will suit an enthusiastic, driven professional with extensive experience in a policy or regulatory strategy environment, preferably within the public sector, with appropriate tertiary qualifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice to the VCGLR on issues relating to the regulation of the gambling and liquor industries in Victoria
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders in developing strategies, formulating evidence-based policy options and undertaking public policy negotiations
  • Prepare complex reports, briefings, options papers, submissions and correspondence
  • Undertake research into emerging issues and trends in gambling and liquor regulation
