General Practice Post Emergency Medicine 2019

Full time – fixed term

Title: General Practice Post Emergency Medicine

Department: Emergency Medicine

Classification: HM13 up to HM20
Salary: applicable to classification

Hours: 76 per fortnight
Status: Full-time, fixed term, 6 or 12 month terms

Period of Employment: 4 February 2019 - 2 February 2020

This GP position is a procedural post for 12 months. You will be provided training to take on senior responsibilities, consistent with the goals and objectives, and under appropriate supervision. You will gain valuable Emergency Medicine experience through exposure to critically ill patients, major trauma and a vast array of medical, orthopaedic, surgical, paediatric and gynaecological conditions. The roles and responsibilities will be tailored to suit the level of experience of the candidate.

Pathway two: As a component of the FACRRM

Pathway three: Through the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM)

This position will do 6 months at Bendigo Health and 6 months at Echuca Regional Health.

Selection Criteria:       

Essential: 01.Must be successful in being accepted as an Australian GP Trainee Registrar and have enrolled with MCCC before applying

Essential: 02.Must hold General Registration with AHPRA prior to commencing employment 

Essential: 03.Demonstrated commitment to rural or remote medical practice as well as specialist registration as a GP or alternatively enrolment in a pathway to fellowship

Essential: 04.Demonstrated appropriate level experience and skills in the medical assessment and clinical management of patients

Essential: 05.Thorough understanding of the relevant legislation pertaining to Medical Officers

Essential: 06.Ability to operate in an environment of change
