Position Details

Hospital Pharmacy Technician

Applications are sought from suitably qualified Pharmacy Technician to work in the Pharmacy Department at Echuca Regional Health.

The Pharmacy Department is looking for someone who is passionate about working in healthcare, wants to try a different role and expand their knowledge.

Experience as a hospital pharmacy technician is not essential and both on the job training and external study options will be provided.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Inventory control and distribution
  • Assistance with dispensing processes
  • Involvement in aseptic preparation
  • Extemporaneous manufacturing
  • Liaising with other health professionals
  • Completing financial reports
  • Preparing PBS claims 

Our team requires someone who has:

  • Qualifications  in as a pharmacy technician (desirable)
  • Has the ability to work within established procedures with a high degree of automony and accountability in accordance with Pharmacy Board of Australia guidelines
  • High-level awareness of  consumer engagement and communication
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health systems and hospitals
  • Strong skills in communication
  • A willingness to learn and work in a multidisciplinary team

This position requires completion of a satisfactory National Police Check prior to appointment.
