About Public Transport Victoria (PTV)

Public Transport Victoria (PTV) is a statutory authority that acts as a system authority for all public transport and an advocate for public transport users. We are a single contact point for customers wanting information on public transport services, fares, tickets and initiatives. PTV aims to improve public transport in Victoria by ensuring better coordination between modes, facilitating expansions to the network, auditing public transport assets, promoting public transport as an alternative to the car.

To put this in perspective:

  • We have a hand in over half a billion trips across the public transport network annually
  • We facilitate 1.6 million trips a day
  • We move hundreds of thousands of people around the state daily

In practical terms, we move people towards many of life's most meaningful experiences, whether it be work, education, social engagements, play, or Melbourne's key attractions (e.g. Australian open, AFL games, Royal Melbourne show... take your pick). When masses of people need to get from point A to point B - know that PTV has played a role. While our core business is public transport, we are also working toward a much bigger, longer-term and impactful agenda. We are contributing toward Victoria's liveability and economic development.

While we are continuing to learn and improve, we do in-fact pull off some pretty amazing things. So, if contributing toward Victoria's future excites you, take this ad as an invite to come and work with us.

About the role

We're looking for someone who wants to help PTV build a high-quality workforce.  Someone who is willing to come onboard and help us identify and attract motivated, capable and community minded people.  If you love engaging with people to understand their career interests and skills whilst aligning these to business needs, we want to hear from you.

You will be part of a fun and energetic team, focused on supporting PTV's growing requirements to hire the best possible talent.  With opportunity to evolve current recruitment practices that drive outcomes consistent with a broader talent strategy, we are keen to hear from those who are up for a challenge.

Bringing your deep expertise in end to end recruitment as well as your curiosity around seeking and building opportunities for improvement, you'll influence, and support hiring managers to create and deliver a quality recruitment service. This will require you to lean on your previous work in building great candidate experiences and leverage your critical eye for spotting talent, perhaps through your assessment experience or through other candidate interactions. You won't shy away from the analytics either.  Enjoying critiquing data and using this to think about how we continue to meet high standards whilst always striving to improve the experience for stakeholders.

So, do you have the desire to join a team focused on developing a talented workforce?  If so tell us about it.  In your cover letter, don't forget to tell us how your experience matches the essential criteria listed below. In addition to the essential technical skills in the position description we are looking for someone who can demonstrate they have:

  • Proven outstanding internal and external stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in linking talent acquisition into a broader talent management or organisational development strategy
  • Ability to organise and prioritise varying workload, flexing between operational and other recruitment activity.
