Exciting opportunity for an experienced Bank Reconciliation Officer to join our Finance team at Harness Racing Victoria!

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Bank Reconciliation Officer to undertake a high-quality bank reconciliation function across all Harness Racing facilities to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations. 

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Manage the Bank Reconciliations for all entities including Shared Services Country Clubs.
  • Undertake receipting for cash payments taken at Tabcorp Park race nights.
  • Processing of invoicing for withholding tax from NZ Trainers & Drivers, invoices and credits for participants and stop payments on stale cheques.
  • Provide effective customer service to ensure queries are addressed and regional harness racing club invoices are raised in a timely and responsive manner.  
  • Communicate with vendors to ensure account issues are addressed, reconciled and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Build effective work relationships.  Work co-operatively with team members, assist others and contribute to team performance. 
  • Develop and maintain contemporary innovative Finance policies and procedures ensuring governance and compliance with relevant legislative authorities, standards, policies and practices including government Standing Directions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess the following:

  • 2+ years' experience within a bank reconciliation function.
  • Demonstrated experience with automated invoice capture and workflow accounts payable tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Detail-focused and organised with the proven capacity to take on and deliver on multiple and varied projects and competing deadlines.
  • Ability to participate collaboratively and constructively within teams, as well as initiative and effective personal judgement when working alone.
  • The successful applicant will be required to successfully complete background checks in accordance with company policy and protocols.

Some travel between HRV head office located in Flemington, Melton and country clubs may be required. The position holder must possess a current Victorian motor vehicle drivers' licence.
